Spotlight Electric has built its legacy in lighting since 1985 with integrity, expertise, and an instinctual intention to create lighting environments from the inside out. Founders Jay and Nicolette Jensen pursue perfection in their products and customer service as they design and install custom, luxury lighting projects from interiors to landscaping and everything in between. SPOTLIGHT’S STORY
JAY JENSEN
Jay learned from and worked with the very best in the industry, Tommy Roberts and John Watson both famous Landscape Architects. Lyle Cunningham, Interior Designer and Richard Ades of Contemporary Sounds and our hometown Nichols Hills Landscape Architect, Bill Renner. Jay has always found himself challenged by knowledge and a desire to be the best. If someone said it couldn’t be done, that was the opportunity to prove he was up for the challenge. Spotlight Electric began by working with other leaders in the construction industry with the idea that excellence is easy to spot on a job site and that incompetence is impossible to hide. Who you are matters as much as what you do, and integrity is what sets you apart from the competition. Spotlight operates under the mindset that, “You don’t have to do more than you say, just do what you say.” We try to live that everyday along with our faith in the Lord. As iron sharpens iron, so Jay was sharpened by his mentors and colleagues.

NICOLETTE JENSEN
While Jay was learning from the very best, Nicolette was pursuing it, in their clients and their portfolio! Nicolette sought referrals, advertised in elite areas in pursuit of extraordinary projects. She kept the company moving in the direction of Jay’s specialized work and enlightened relationships. Her gut instinct for good business brought this family owned and operated business through 3 decades. It is a business built on personal connections, deep care, and connection to clients; not only to their projects, but their businesses and families as well. The names Hunzicker Bros and Emsco’s Larry Allen are synonymous with superb Electrical Supply in the Oklahoma City area. Jay’s expertise lead to a personal and professional relationships with each of these industry titans. Jay designed and installed landscape lighting for Larry’s home. Walter Hunzicker valued Jay’s expertise so much that he entrusted the landscape lighting of his granddaughter’s, Nichols Hills, wedding to him. This trust was accompanied by a personal invitation to the wedding. Proof that the work and the relationship were both exemplary.

When planning a landscape, building a new home, or just remodeling, lighting should be at the forefront of your mind…It will make a huge difference in the everyday enjoyment of your home. While residential work is the primary focus of Spotlight Electric, commercial builders that demand the very best are also part of our clientele.
Over the years, Spotlight has been called in when others failed either at customer service or in electrical work. It is true that mistakes do happen…however, it’s what a company does after the mistake that puts Spotlight in a league of its own!
If Spotlight can do anything to help a client, it will be done. Estimates are free and in writing if needed. A 50% deposit is required on custom lighting jobs to order fixtures.
